Lee County says the area is in its worst drought in 25 years, with Fort Myers running more than a foot behind on rainfall. Residents are being urged to follow once-weekly watering rules and conserve water as wildfire risk stays high.
Fort Myers is moving to buy land near the new Lee Health campus so Jones-Walker Boulevard can eventually connect through to Winkler Avenue. The project could reshape traffic flow around one of the cityβs fastest-growing medical areas.
